Technically, Lance is one of our esteemed "foreign" members, since he lives in Cape Town, South Africa, but he's more American than most Norton Colorado members in terms of his deep love and appreciation for the American way of life. Lance is a country boy from Bloemfontein, which is pretty much South Africa's version of Texas. He loves guns, American country music, and big powerful vehicles. Lance has a large collection of vintage and modern motorcycles (and cars) but doesn't own a Norton because they are very rare in South Africa. He's visited Colorado three or four times to ride here, usually with Bob Herman, Eric Bergman and Richard Florence, all of whom have been to Cape Town and ridden with Lance and his great friend Richard Piller.

In the first photo below, Lance (right) is seen with Gary Bolduc at one of the June BBQs at Eric's house. Lance, Richard Piller and Lance's family are shown at home in Cape Town in the second photo. Richard seems perturbed but I can't remember why—Lance probably just remarked at how much he loves gigantic, gas-guzzling American trucks.
